Storsand Preschool is located in Gammelstad, approximately one mile outside of Luleå. The preschool consists of 6 departments: three for younger children and three for older children. We view our outdoor and local environment as a valuable asset for children's learning and exploration. The nature, with its proximity to the forest, river, and shore, gives us the opportunity to spend time outdoors, gain experiences, and care for the environment. Our operations are characterized by co-creation, creativity, and joyful learning. We see children as competent, thinking, and unique individuals who should be given the opportunity to grow and develop in a changing and stimulating environment where we challenge their abilities.

We work in a process- and project-oriented manner, linking values-based issues and different modes of expression with the various goal areas of the curriculum. The preschool's priority areas are Language and Communication, as well as Health and Well-being. Through various aesthetic modes of expression, children are given the opportunity to explore different content.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a preschool teacher, you play a crucial role in children's development and well-being. You will have a multifaceted role and work closely with childcare assistants and other staff at the preschool to create a safe, stimulating, and accessible education for the children. Your main responsibilities include:

• ensuring goal-directed processes occur and conducting teaching together with childcare assistants, where children's participation and influence are central
• ensuring that teaching in the preschool takes place in accordance with the goals of the curriculum
• planning, implementing, and developing teaching together with the work team and for the entire preschool
• ensuring that the preschool's learning environments offer variation where children can further develop their abilities in an accessible learning environment for care, play, movement, health, development, and learning

You work to create safe and trusting relationships with children, colleagues, and guardians.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are educated and certified as a preschool teacher with the eligibility to teach in preschool, and who have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. It is an advantage if you have professional experience from working in preschool, as well as if you have knowledge of one of our minority languages or another language.

As a person, you need to be structured and able to plan, organize, and complete your work. To succeed in the role, it is required that you have the ability to meet the needs of different children, create good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues, and that you value collaboration and strive for common success. Your creative ability to think outside the box when needed is also important.

Start date: August 1, 2026, or as agreed.
